Water Rituals

Ritual, simply put, is a way to either make or mark meaning.

Almost anything can become a ritual, for what makes it a ritual is what we put into it. Our careful mindfulness, intentions, and actions create something sacred.

Water is the central element in our Ritual Bath Kit and Simmer Pot Ritual Kit.

Water holds the power to cleanse, purify, and protect. It connects us through time and space to all of our ancestors, all of the plants, animals and places on earth.

Working with water can be as simple as noticing or naming all the ways you interact with water.

  • Wash your hands, face, and/or body

  • Use a container to pour water over you

  • Add a liquid to drink, noticing it move through your body with each sip

  • Name the ways Water helps you: sustains life, makes up a large part of your body, holds you up, cleans, purifies

Ritual Baths

Like other water rituals, ritual bathing has a history in many faiths and cultures as a way to purify or bless the physical and energetic body.

Wudu, Baptism, Mikveh, bathing in the Ganges-ritual bathing is a universal way to engage with the sacred element of water.

Water is also a portal into liminal spaces, and ritual bathing can be a beautiful way to begin spellwork or honor the lunar cycle.

Ritual baths can be as simple as water alone, or be a combination of salts, herbs and flowers.
